Cold new snow fell on a warm snow surface which might have created a near-surface layer of facets. Stabilization of the new snow from the weekend may therefore take a little longer. (NVE)

Be careful in sun exposed steep slopes and in areas with wind slabs at higher elevations. There is uncertainty in the prevalence of a weak layer below the wind slabs that might delay stabilization. Danger signs are a clear indication of the instability. (NVE)

Wet avalanches may occur when sun comes out. At higher elevations, be aware in steep areas with with slabs. Fresh wind slabs may be created by the strong wind, while slabs from last weekend may rest on facets. Check the snowpack before committing to big terrain. (NVE)
